The 2nd & 3rd Neonatal resuscitation Training session for nurses and mid-wives in Ondo State after the 10th year anniversary of NISONM took place in the state on the 21st & 24th of August 2017 respectively at the Premier Holiday Resorts Igbara Oke, Ondo state. It was sponsored by “Saving One Million Lives (SOLM) Program for Results” in conjunction with the Ministry of Health (Department of Nursing Services).

There were 100 nurses and midwives in 2 batches of 50s drawn from the health care facilities across the three senatorial districts in attendance.

Four of our south-west NISONM members were in attendance to facilitate the workshop (Drs Oluwafemi, Bello, Eniowo & Akinmadelo).

The workshop comprised of four sessions (lessons 1-4) with a large emphasis on practical demonstration, using the teaching aids donated to our hospital (Mother & Child Hospital, Akure), including some video materials. The participants were trained in the following:


After the lectures, the participants were divided into four different groups for hands-on training. The participants had pre-test before the lectures and post-test evaluations after the training for each group. Pictures also speak………..(Attached).
